I get tired of hearing the word "just" because to me,
the word "just" is so limiting, and I'm all about possibilities........
It has that lovely (insert sarcasm here) connotation that
whatever comes after is has less value.
Like, I'm just a teacher
They're just playing
When in most circumstances, that is far from the truth.
Today, we are too busy playing.
(notice I didn't say JUST)

People who say "I'm just a teacher" probably do so because they don't feel valued by society as doing important work, which is evident by the monetary compensation received. Thank goodness we teachers value the non-monetary compensation we receive from the children-the looks of joy and pride on their faces when they figure something out or accomplish something new. What a privilege it is to share those feelings with them!
