I've been going through some of our older photos and putting together a few posts on projects that we have done previously. (Partially because I haven't shared all of these photos with you, and partially to get some more of the recipes up here for you.)

This is the paint I usually use as a first paint for our infants, although I may be changing that now that I have so many new homemade recipes.
This paint is super sticky, dries translucent, and is very shiny!
All you do is add some food coloring to some light corn syrup. If you like, you can add a little bit of dish soap as well, but typically, I just use the food coloring and syrup, unless we are painting the windows- then I use some soap too. You can use this to finger paint, or you can get out the paint brushes.
Adding some corn syrup to regular paints also makes them shiny, but they do not dry translucent.
If children use lots of this paint on the page, I recommend laminating their work. If it is very humid, the paint can sometimes get sticky and run off the page.
